Good morning everyone. I own a prefabricated concrete garage from a well-known prefabricated garage manufacturer. There is a garage door on each side. In front, obviously, is the paved driveway. At the back of the garage is a second terrace, also paved and compacted, measuring 3 meters wide by 3.50 meters deep. After the terrace, the lawn begins. That is the initial situation. A wooden roof similar to a carport is to be built there. I would like to "only" set 2 H-anchors and cast them into a foundation at the end of the terrace where the lawn begins. The front part of the roof, that is, the part that starts at the garage, I would like to mount on the garage. Either mount the wooden beams directly on the garage or mount a wooden beam to the front side of the garage and then attach the wooden beams going to the back to the H-anchors onto this mounted beam. Is there anything speaking against that? I would also upload a picture if this is desired for clarification.

If it concerns boundary construction that would then be longer than 9m and/or higher than 3m, the state building code. If there is a development plan, perhaps that as well.

Make sure that there is a slight slope towards the lawn to drain water away. The version with nailing the plank to the garage front and then placing roof beams on it is unfortunately prone to rot. There must be something between the plank and the concrete that protects the wood from moisture accumulation. Roofing felt, for example. The other version is simpler.

So for me, it was actually about static or something similar, not about the boundary construction. I'll just say this much, my garage is already 9 meters long.

The thing with the tar paper and stagnant moisture is a good point, thanks. But I'm still wavering between the two options. Of course, I will take a slope into account.
The roof will also be "only" covered with this cheap plastic corrugated sheet. No idea what exactly it is called. I will attach it to the cross beams with spacers.

I tend to go for the variant with the tar paper and the plank on the front wall of the garage because that way you can align the roof with the height of the garage. That certainly creates a more harmonious look than if the carport is somewhat higher than the garage.

If you do it this way, proceed as follows: Cut the plank to size. Lay it on a sawhorse. Paint the side that will face the front wall generously with some used oil. Don’t drip anything into the soil. Use foil! ([Used oil] for example from the lawn mower). Alternatively, use a batch of Carbonol. Then nail roofing felt on, pull it over the top side. Mount the plank. It will last 100 years. Of course, it would be better if the roof covering extended over the parapet of the garage, then the wood and facade would stay dry. Whether it works structurally can probably only be definitively told to you by the manufacturer of the garage. Tendentially, I would have little concern there, with a certain thickness of the concrete. How thick is the wall?
