Hello dear people here in the forum, maybe someone can help us here. Our house burned down 2 months ago, i.e. 2 rooms are completely burned out and the facade was damaged, the remaining rooms were affected by the gas fire and smoke / soot. It is a prefabricated house in timber frame construction from 1973 and Eternit panels on the facade. Here, one panel of the facade shattered due to the heat and would probably need to be replaced. The insurance commissioned a company to check if the house is repairable. According to the company, this would be possible. Now my question(s): 1. If the exterior facade is changed/altered, must the new thermal insulation regulations be applied? 2. If one exterior wall is repaired, what about the other old walls that do not comply with the new thermal insulation regulations? 3. If we do not want to renovate the house, what claims do we have under the building fire insurance (covering demolition costs?). Many thanks for your help. Regards Uwe
