A problem is when it has already been spackled. The value improves because of this, and you can't get to some problem areas without damage anymore. It makes sense to test early in order to be able to correct. We had 1.2 with controlled residential ventilation and then made a lot of corrections before spackling, but certainly not everything. Construction stop. Nobody was up for it and I would have gone crazy. I skipped the third test since it was only about fixing defects, not about the value itself.

My kfw85 extensively renovated house achieved 0.4 and 0.6 in the 2nd bdt. In the 1st bdt it was about 0.3 each more and it was already quite drafty there. New build and 1.7?! Hell....

I saw today that two empty conduits leading outside and one going to the attic are not sealed at the openings... Could this be the cause of the poor result?

yes if the other end is also open and not in the ground or something and the already mentioned things.

That alone is hardly sufficient. I was present at the BDT and we checked all the usual weak points.
