Hello dear forum,

I have already been able to take many useful tips from the forum, thank you for that! Now I hope you can help me with my question.

We (my wife and I) want to start our new construction project (Effizienzhaus 55 EE) at the end of the year, currently we are waiting for the building permit. The plan is a single-trade contract with relatively a lot of own labor. Now I have a comprehension problem regarding the BEG WG subsidy. Before I ask Bafa or Kfw directly, I thought I would try here first :)

According to the leaflet on the Bafa website, for a new building the entire building costs for the building are eligible for funding. Since my brother-in-law is a gas-water installer, we would like to do everything related to water + sanitary + heating as own labor.

Could we therefore apply for funding for the foundation slab + shell construction + windows + roof (this should already reach the maximum amount of €150,000) and do the rest as own labor or must everything else also be done by a specialist company? Or do I have a general comprehension problem here? Currently I do not yet have an energy consultant, hence the question here.

I look forward to your answers :)

Best regards,
Daniel

It's very simple: Own contribution = not eligible for funding If you arrive at appropriate amounts through external contracting, then everything is fine.

Small note: if the heating system is installed by the owner, no EE class is possible.

Thank you very much for your answers! Then I am relieved that I didn't completely misunderstand it :)

Where can I find the info regarding the EE class? I didn't find anything about it in the information sheet. Is it really only about the installation of the heat pump, or does something else fall under it?

Thanks and best regards,
Daniel

This can only be concluded from point 5.16 of the FAQ of the BMWI. The requirement for the EE class is that the heating system is part of the funding. Unfortunately, this is only explicitly stated in the guideline for renovation. Hopefully, this will be aligned and supplemented for new construction in the next revision of the guideline.

How does it work with the heating regarding work related to the development of the heat source (e.g., with a brine-water heat pump)? If I use collectors and do the earthworks myself, there should be no problems. Because the excavator is not operated by the heating technician anyway. However, the installation of the collectors probably has to be subcontracted?
