I just have to add: In the end, we ordered one online. We wanted a corner bathtub and those aren't very modern right now, so the showrooms don't have many. But when you then look at the dimensions of the comfortable bathtubs, you can easily infer whether a bathtub might also be comfortable. And so far we haven't been disappointed, at least in the dry run. We haven't been able to lie in it with water yet .

As I assess the responses in this thread, I am probably truly the sole owner of this problem. Rhineland greetings

Hello building expert,

I always found our old bathtub uncomfortable, especially in the coccyx area, it hurt after sitting for a long time. After trying it out lying down, we decided on a trapezoidal bathtub. You can even sit comfortably side by side.

Oups - it already seemed pretty exotic to me as well, so it comforts me that others have had this experience too. What aid have you found for yourself in the old tub?

Next time I will also lie down and test; I’m already annoyed that I didn’t carve out that time for myself.

However, the bath has only been in use for about 4 weeks, so I depend on tricks/aids that will make bathing bearable for me in the coming years.

Rhenish greetings

I also used to have an uncomfortable bathtub and had mild back pain afterwards. For me, a tub cushion with suction cups helped; it stabilized my neck. Maybe that will help you with your tailbone too?!

And what if you use these bathtub inserts? There are nicer ones, but oh well. At least you can throw them into the washing machine. Or you get these stylish black neck pillows for the tub and tuck them under your butt so you lie differently in the tub.
