Hello everyone,

our bathroom is currently planned like this:

In a 3D view it looks roughly like this:

In the meantime, the idea came up whether we should design the bathroom differently:

Alternatively, also with a continuous wall and a door opening:

The original floor plan might seem a bit straightforward.

The other floor plan hides the toilet.
Here the question arises whether it might be a bit tight with 90 cm clear space?
The half-height variant might loosen it up a bit but has the disadvantage that the bathtub does not align with the half-height wall. The wall behind the toilet must be 20 cm deep because of the ventilation pipe in the corner. The bathtub is 80 cm wide. Accordingly, the half-height wall would either be only 60 cm long, which is not very much for the toilet. If you want to make the wall longer, there would have to be an approx. 10-15 cm enclosure around the bathtub, which in turn somewhat narrows the area between the bathtub and the sink again.

The alternative with the continuous wall would have the advantage that the bathtub would not need an enclosure. However, the area behind the wall might appear very elongated (90x365 cm clear space).

What do you think?

I don't like the door opening. That is really wasted space. I would have taken the half-height wall with a tiled opening. Since there are built-in spotlights, the wall looks a bit more relaxed.

How is it with a shower?

I like the 2nd option with the half-high wall best.

It is hidden in the back corner behind the stairs ... basically then opposite the toilet. What exactly do you mean by that? A niche in the half-height wall facing the bathtub?

Here is the half-height version again without a frame around the bathtub.

80 cm long half-height wall:

95 cm long half-height wall:

If a frame is added around the bathtub, it is about 90-95 cm deep. On the other side, the sink with the drywall construction is about 65 cm deep. The room is 240 cm wide. 80-85 cm in the passage is not very much, is it?

Oh, I completely overlooked that on the floor plan.
I would stick with the flush version. But that is merely a matter of taste. Definitely no frame around the bathtub.
80-85 is already stressful if there are several people in the bathroom. I think you can live well with it, but it is definitely avoidable here.
I have attached a photo of what I mean by a storage compartment. Of course, not in that dimension.
