Of course, every chemical affects the materials - sometimes more, sometimes less. However, lemon cleaner is still one of the gentlest options. After 15 or 20 years, a renovation is necessary anyway. The joints should actually last that long.

I use neutral soap. No microfiber cloths but sponge cloths, a brush, and a leather.

Has been working for 20 years and still does in the new house. ;)

However, I can't imagine that it is due to the cleaner alone. My mother-in-law has been cleaning with vinegar cleaner for years and her joints are fine.
