I work in project management, moving to a region where I have a very good network - at the same time a good resume. I’m not really worried about it, since I have a whole year to look for a job. I’m not necessarily expecting a lower income; I have comparative data from friends in the region.

But you are all right, we will make this change with a better feeling if we first rent. The house isn't going anywhere!!

From male friends?? I don’t want to deceive you, but the job market (anywhere) doesn’t wait for a young mom who is supposed to do project management with sometimes lousy working hours or who wants to work part-time (or full-time after all).

Oh, I know the opposite. Especially when family planning is completed, young women – at least in the environment I work in – are very popular. In my circle of colleagues and friends, there are many very successful women who have had a real boost after having children, mainly supported by the job market. You just have to want it; at least that's the experience I have observed in my environment!!
