I am not an expert, but I find spots very 90s. Then rather stripes, although in 10-15 years probably no one will want to see those either. If you absolutely want spots, I would follow this rule: "Less is more" beats "more is better."

I also don't find recessed spotlights in the living area very appealing, but they are quite okay in the bathroom. If you then move the recessed spotlights a bit closer to the wall and thus also get indirect light from the wall, I actually find it quite good. It also creates interesting light and shadow plays on the wall. For the ideal positioning, you can find various rule-of-thumb formulas on Google depending on the beam angle. The indirect lighting of course costs some light, so the spotlights should be a bit stronger than if you were only illuminating the floor.

I’m almost hitting the same note.
Building is currently damn expensive, so you don’t also have to "nail" spots for 5k€…10k€ to the ceilings.
(Are the € even enough for a complete single-family house with lighting fixtures, dimmers, flush-mounted boxes, etc.,?)

1x shower, 1x tub, and possibly 1x center of the room. If LED mirrors, they are superfluous above the washbasin.
