Hello everyone, we are currently building a single-family house. The shell is up and next week the 20cm exterior insulation will be applied. Then about 2cm of exterior plaster will be added. We have already ordered an awning and have already had 5 mounting brackets for the awning installed in this phase. Now the installer screwed the awning brackets directly onto the raw facade, then 2cm spacers will be added and the awning will be mounted on them. The 2cm spacers also serve as thermal insulation between the awning and the bracket. I am wondering whether these spacers would be better placed between the bracket and the wall, or if it is thermally negligible when the spacer is positioned between the awning and the bracket? Regards

What are mounting brackets? An awning consists of the cassette and wall brackets. However, these can only be installed once the wall is finished. Therefore, it may not be installed yet. What do you think?

Hello, the mounting bracket bridges the gap between the brick wall made of sand-lime bricks and the 20cm thermal insulation composite system. I tried to illustrate it in the picture .

Ok. Now I understand. That always has to be bridged. Normally, you use the fischer thermax system for the ETICS. Regarding your question. In my opinion, it doesn't matter. You'll always get a bridge there. But you won't notice it in practice.
