Better said: Once the heat is in, it is in...it doesn't help to run the controlled residential ventilation at 100% at night and then only 10% during the day.

The temperature changes little to not at all.

In other words, shading is 10 times more important than automating the controlled residential ventilation.

Of course, one does not exclude the other and ideally complements it.

I would even say an automated shading.

Air is just a very poor heat carrier. That is why, for example, office buildings nowadays are switching to water-based systems. Smaller ventilation ducts are needed, lower energy consumption and above all no cold drafts.

Somehow I find the OP's question pointless in connection with his apartment, since the apartment does not have a controlled residential ventilation system. In general, the question is interesting if you plan to build a single-family house with controlled residential ventilation and heat recovery (so also for me). Thanks for the info about the summer bypass. We will also install a Zehnder system.

You can forget it.. the controlled residential ventilation neither cools the air in summer nor warms it in winter (for example, distributing warm fireplace air from the living room around the house). The only thing that helps (if you don't want to collect everything) is an air conditioner (but not cheap hardware store junk).

That would also render the purpose of a controlled residential ventilation system absurd
