Attic ladder for garage?

Hello everyone,

we are currently faced with the choice of a loft ladder for the garage.

We have built a double garage (9x6.50m) with a storage room (with a gable roof) which is not connected to the house.

Now we are faced with the choice of a suitable loft ladder.

Does it necessarily have to be an F30 (fire-retardant) loft ladder or not?

If not, then we would have decided on a Fakro loft ladder (LTK Thermo).
Wellhöfer is too expensive for the garage for me. And the F30 ones are also rather unaffordable. :-(

**Fire protection requirements for small garages

In the Garage Ordinance Bavaria (Garage Ordinance) under § 6, requirements are made regarding fire protection or building materials for small garages, medium garages, and large garages. In the version from 1993 with amendments from 2001, for small garages, i.e. prefabricated garages or garages up to 100 m² of usable space, the requirement is made that load-bearing walls, ceilings, and roofs must be made of non-combustible building materials. However, at the same time, an exception is granted here so that small garages may also be made of combustible building materials, provided they are used solely for garage purposes.

I would therefore assume that you are already required to comply with the Garage Ordinance due to the storage room. For this reason, I tend to suggest installing a fire-resistant BET.

There are single-sided and double-sided fire-retardant F30 attic ladders. Where can one find the regulation for this?

The Dolle F30 is available for 469 euros.
