Hello, I would like to ask for an opinion, please, if you can see apparent asbestos in this mortar? It was around a stainless steel stove door. The door seemed to me to be rather recent but I do not know for sure. I could not see any fibers visually but I am just an amateur. I understand that a laboratory analysis might be necessary.

However, I would be very grateful for a visual assessment. Thank you!

Hello,
I can't tell you that.
But if you want to know exactly, you have to have it analyzed.

So you have done work and now want to know afterwards what you were holding? Honestly: Who cares? If (only if!) there is asbestos, you need dust to be able to inhale fibers. And with such tiny amounts - if at all - that is not an issue.

Me! I once read that a single fiber can be enough

Sometimes you read so much...

I once read that 400,000 people die every year in the EU because of our poor air quality. Are you now analyzing the air in your garden too? Or are you going to stop breathing?

Seriously, that's nonsense.
