Are wood fiberboards well suited for thermal insulation?

Isn't that also quite expensive?

Of course it costs money and it really needs to be considered whether it makes sense. I am not convinced of that. I don’t know if it brings much.

Hello,

First of all, thank you very much for the answers.

It is about an existing building and I think 160 mm is already quite substantial. Of course, the rafter cross-section must allow it. Now I have read that 120 or even 140 mm are also sufficient and without [Aufspardämmung].

I am waiting for further meaningful answers.
Thank you very much

I like these boards and I have already processed some, but in this case I think they want to sell. Because often the bulk doesn't bring much. When the sun beats down in the summer, the room heats up. In winter we want to keep the cold inside the room. So most insulation materials have a high heat storage capacity. That is sufficient.

Hello,

The 160 mm is already quite good for a renovation. A little can be pushed there and the wood fiberboard with 35 or 60 mm on top is already exceptionally good. I see the heat protection the same way, that is a good strategy by the seller.

I wish you a pleasant evening.

The discussion has somewhat died down, but one thing is clear to me: it is only slightly beyond the bulk of the evidence of the summer heat. But what was suggested to Hannes is not the final word of wisdom.
