Are LED strips basically dimmable?

Are LED strips with the appropriate drivers generally dimmable, or do they have to be specifically designed for it?

The background is as follows: I have planned accent lighting with LED strips for a niche. A dimmer (Merten), 230V/12V transformer, and 12V phase cut/on PWM are available, but I am currently unsure about the LED strip itself, whether I need to get a special one that is dimmable or if I can just get any random one?

It is not the LED strip itself that is dimmed, but the driver, which then passes on the values more or less well/poorly. So if you don't have anything special there, just a usual LED strip without app stuff, etc., then yes, everything can generally be dimmed as long as the driver can do that.

Most LED strips operate on 12V DC direct current and are dimmable. There are also versions that run on 24V or even 230V, which are not dimmable. Just buy accordingly.
