Are connection costs justified?

Hello! I would like to ask about your experiences. We are building a house in my parents' garden, accessible via an agricultural road that belongs to the Realverband. We have now obtained a connection to the public gas and electricity network from avacon, and a distance of about 80m to the utility room is being charged, which is why we also need a different cable cross-section. The costs for this amount to twice what is normally expected. We are wondering why they are not charging us only from the property boundary, as is usual elsewhere, but for the entire distance, and whether with you every utility provider charged for earthworks, even though only one dug and everyone laid cables in the same trench? Our contact person at avacon is not exactly cooperative and accommodating and is already quite unfriendly with us, but this calculation is simply not clear to us, and whether this is usual when building on private land. Does anyone have any experience with this? Best regards

Hello,

legally speaking, I am unfortunately not knowledgeable in this area. However, it is understandable that the supplier in this case charges for the excavation work from the point where the connection is also made. I think this is now 80m away from the HAR room. Someone has to pay the costs incurred for the connection. The supplier is not responsible for the distance, neither are the other owners of the presumably preceding properties - therefore, you are responsible for the costs.

Regarding the multiple charging of excavation work: In our case, excavation was done once - by the shell builder. All suppliers then used the empty conduits laid by the shell builder. Therefore, earthworks were only charged by the shell builder. The only exception is Telekom, which charges for the excavation work again, as a flat rate of 599.00 EUR.

Regards
Markus

I don't know much about it either, but here is a little thought of mine:

... would roughly be an additional €2000 for me.
Generally, 15 meters could be flat rate for the basic connection.
Then you pay €2000 for 65 meters, which is about €31 per meter – I think that sounds much more reasonable :)
