Hello everyone!

We are considering installing an anti-fog mirror in the small bathroom, but so far I have found almost no comments about it. A search here in the forum yielded no results at all. Even with infrared mirrors, only very, very few posts came up.
Here (we built abroad), these mirrors don’t seem to be very popular, because in the sanitary specialty stores I don’t find many and the salespeople can hardly tell me anything about them. I also don’t really want to spend several hundred euros on an unknown brand and then end up dissatisfied with the mirror.
Do you have any experience with this? I look forward to any answers and thank you in advance.

Unfortunately, I also have no experience with such mirrors. But: With a proper ventilation system, you don't need something like that. Now in my condominium, I have a Helios exhaust fan in every bathroom. They remove so much moisture when showering and bathing, even in winter, that the mirrors stay clear. Since the fan in my place is on a separate light circuit, I can easily test this. So, no fogging without the fan, no fogging with the fan. You just have to remember to turn it on. Or you wire it together with the light, which you always use anyway. In a single-family house, then a central ventilation system should pull everything away (exhaust air is common in the bathroom).

Thank you very much for your reply. Maybe that really would be a solution for us; I need to read up on it. Can this fan be retrofitted so that it still looks good? In the bathroom and on the facade? We have a fan like that in the guest toilet. I find it terribly loud and uncomfortable there. But there are probably also quality differences, because I wouldn’t want it that loud even when showering. We do not have a central ventilation system. PS: I just looked at the Helios mini fans. 25dB is indeed very, very quiet.

Yes, the volume depends on the device and the setting. In one bathroom, I only hear it as a quiet noise. In the other, the ball bearing seems to be broken or it simply spins much faster; it's actually too loud for me there, but I've gotten used to it. The filter gets clogged with dust over time, which makes more noise, so it should be changed regularly...

We only moved in a month ago, so dust in the filter shouldn't be a problem yet. I just think the developer installed a cheap device for us, because the noise level in the guest bathroom is very unpleasant. I could first replace the device there and then see how it "feels." The question remains, however, whether and how we can make it look nice in our bathroom. I don't know if I can convince my husband that we might/could/should drill a hole in the wall.

Do you have a window there? There are apparently also solutions for the window frame. This was discussed somewhere in the forum, I just can't recall the name of the manufacturer.
