Aluminum U-profile flat roof dismantling without damage?

Good question. Since it is an older roof, it could be a hanging installation. I don't have another picture on hand right now to show you the scheme:


This allows the aluminum rail to expand freely. You can find various videos about it online.
Maybe you can feel at the vertical end whether and how the rail is hooked in.

Alternatively, it may also be glued (Enkolit or similar), in which case it won't work without damage.

Could possibly be something similar to Google’s Roofer roof edge profile. If so, remove the clamping rails with a slotted screwdriver.

The first rails are a bit difficult but in the end it goes smoothly. A small spatula and a pry bar with feeling will help you with that.

Maybe the clamping rails were not installed at all.

Second possibility, it was hooked in at the bottom and then pulled upwards towards the roof surface. It then snaps in at the top. Disassembly is the reverse.
