Alternative to wood application on the exterior wall

First, take larch. It weathers to a silvery gray. That doesn't look cheap. A treatment with Olassy UV Primer and Finish could last several years. It has proven effective at swimming pools and on ship decks.

Despite searching, I have not found any (derogatorily pronounced) "wood imitation" made of plastic that would be suitable for exterior facades. It seems there is a small market gap here.

So it would probably come down to larch, including the UV protection recommended by [Nordlys].

The graying of the larch mainly occurs due to UV radiation. You’re already in a good position on the north side, and an oil with pigments against UV helps it last a bit longer. That’s what I would use. Under these conditions, a plastic will certainly hold up better than on the south side. On the Infineon Campus near Munich, the buildings were clad with a kind of wood imitation plastic panels. Especially on the south side, they suffered greatly and became discolored after about 15 years. No idea how high-quality the material was. But by now, it looks pretty bad in some spots.

Guys, UV-resistant plastic still needs to be invented.... it fades just like wood, but then looks really shabby, while silver-gray larch at least still radiates dignity. Like a silver-gray person, Karsten
