Alternative to the heater fan?!

Hey guys Since I am a passionate hobbyist, my garage is turned into a workshop on some days. Unfortunately, the insulation of my garage, well .. let's just say ... "leaves a bit to be desired," which makes a heating system a must on cold days. But two weeks ago, my old fan heater gave up the ghost. Honestly, I was never really satisfied with it anyway. You can really feel the warmth immediately after switching on an infrared heater. I am currently weighing whether this is just "window dressing" or the reality. It would be especially practical for me since otherwise, I have had to start running to my garage up to an hour earlier to preheat it with the fan heater. I would appreciate your answers!

Wouldn't a gas heater then be an alternative?

Yes, certainly. I have also thought of this alternative. However, such infrared heaters are described as particularly efficient. That piqued my interest

An infrared heater does not heat the room but only warms the objects it shines on, so you. And yes, it radiates immediately after switching on.

I have a 550 watt infrared heater in the bathroom to have 2-3 degrees more than the usual 22 degrees while bathing.

The thing is crap, it takes 1 hour or more for these 2 degrees. A heat lamp achieves the same in 5 minutes.
Then the warmth feels kind of weird, so I consider it money wasted.
