Hi, we are building on the edge of a field and since my wife is a bit anxious, there should be an alarm system in addition to the somewhat better windows.

Now we can also order the magnetic switches for the window frames so that nothing has to be retrofitted later.

Can you recommend a system that is very easy to use and works well?

I will be offered something from Telenot and Jablotron next week.

Thanks for your help

We are also currently building and have decided on Lupus. The system combines alarm and smart home functionalities. How well it works, of course, I cannot say yet.

What is the additional cost for the magnetic switches in the windows?

I have now decided against the magnetic switches in the window. The windows would be delayed due to the change. Additionally, the extra cost would be significantly higher compared to the wireless version. 70 euros per sash plus tax plus electrician. I have now decided on JABLOTRON because they invisibly hide the magnetic switches in the windows. That was important to me. And at around 4,000 euros really fair.

I am currently here in the forum and don’t want to miss the chance to post my insignificant opinion, as I am also tinkering with my alarm system right now.
Remember that all magnetic switches, glass break alarms, mushroom head locks, etc. can certainly possibly stop an intruder from further breaking in, but damage that needs to be repaired has already occurred.
As a small thought – there are also inexpensive light barriers that already trigger an alarm when the intruder has not yet applied their “crowbar” but has just entered the property.
The light barrier can then activate optical/acoustic signals. If the light beam is at 1 meter height, not even a cat will trigger it anymore.
Unfortunately, PIR detectors often cause false alarms when dogs/cats/etc. are detected as a heat source.
The newly often offered smart solutions with camera and image transmission are great, but if the intruder is already inside, it is not a relief for me to possibly communicate with them!
There is also a super inexpensive radar solution recently, which is only interesting for electronics specialists as it is a kit. If interested, I will gladly post details later.
Regards and best wishes that none will experience the “practical case.”
