I find the idea very interesting and think it is a pity that here mostly only "against" is being talked about instead of helping with useful tips.

Concerns are of course also useful! But I think you have informed yourselves sufficiently in advance?!

Personally, I would also talk to a locksmith who can build you a frame. The suspension on the other sides (not at the conservatory) must also be checked for sufficient load-bearing capacity.

Try to find reference projects nearby via the internet.

Hi, I also think the idea is really cool, but I'm the hammock type anyway. What if you have a wooden frame made, probably fits better with the rest. Or stretch a steel cable over the two corners where the net can be threaded.

... but have the manufacturer explain that to you again. It doesn't work that simply

I still find the idea interesting and don't understand why it has to be shot down like that. It's just unusual. Do you already have an idea what it costs, also compared to the classic railing?

The net itself is not expensive. I expect a maximum of 400 euros. And for the mounting, it probably depends on "how" it is mounted. On Wednesday, the carpenter is coming anyway, who "covers" the airspace (I hope you understand what I mean). Maybe he can help me further or tell me what such a mounting frame made of wood would cost.

Not necessarily my style, but pretty funny...

We're planning an airspace over the dining area, so my question is: what's underneath yours? If it's also the dining area, I would simply have concerns that something might keep falling into the soup.

Otherwise, I also think the be-all and end-all is the suspension. Since the idea obviously comes from sailing, how about asking a boat builder?

Brief update: due to our room situation, we would have needed a surrounding steel frame. Cost 5500 euros. We decided against it because of the cost :-/
