Hello everyone,

In my search through the forum, I have not yet found the right answer. Currently, we have two providers with whom we want to build; one offers a geothermal heat pump with collector drilling, and the other house provider offers an air-water heat pump.

Could you perhaps tell me the advantages and disadvantages of both technologies? The air-water heat pump is considerably cheaper and, according to the seller, only has a minimally higher resource consumption.

Thanks for your answers.

Yours, Scum

Hello,

Geothermal energy is more expensive but more effective, whereas the air heat pump is cheaper but less effective.
Concrete statements can only be made when concrete figures are available. Sufficiently reliable information is only provided by an objective economic efficiency calculation.
General contractors often supply cheaply purchased components without sufficient calculation/dimensioning. Therefore, the systems often do not operate very effectively. Heat load and heating surface calculations are a minimum requirement in this regard.
The same applies to summer heat protection, which is greatly neglected by the Energy Saving Ordinance.
Here, one should have the summer room temperatures and cooling loads calculated to decide whether cooling might be required/necessary. The same applies, by the way, to other areas of building technology such as ventilation, solar, etc.

A seller wants to sell, so he is rarely an objective and good advisor.;)
Best regards.
