Aerated concrete or sand-lime brick with external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS) made of polystyrene

I’ll keep it short and simple. We are currently faced with the choice between Ytong 36.5cm monolithic construction and KS with [WDVS] made of polystyrene and cannot decide which to choose. Ytong is 11k€ more expensive, but with KS we have a “bad feeling” about the insulation (use of pesticides, etc).

What would you do and why?

I would use sand-lime brick with [WDVS] if I am sensitive to noise, very good sound insulation, but then you definitely need ventilation.

However, when I think about the environment and healthy living, that really wouldn't be my thing at all....

Ytong. You can even drill the mailbox into it. Or even awnings.

yes but now everything is already solvable with WDVS, millions of people live with it and also have mailboxes.....

Are you sure that Ytong is more expensive? I always thought that was the cheapest of all construction methods? I really can't imagine that now, you should ask again.

Exactly. And is very satisfied with the stone. By the way, it is not cheap, but saves on labor costs due to the large formats.

I also thought that Ytong is cheaper and was surprised when I saw the offers. Maybe it's because of the state of Bavaria?
