Yes, it is about my house in the south of Russia which I am building on my own.
The temperature is already 16°C at 7 a.m., and from 2 p.m. it was 31°C here.
I fear it will get even warmer in the coming days; the mortar dries quickly.
But now I don’t know if it is due to the heat, the aerated concrete, or the mortar itself.
I just add more water, but still after 10 minutes it’s so dry that you can lower the stones by one centimeter with 20 strikes.
So far it’s going quite well, I have decided on the size 625x250x300.
The stones are called WKBlok from wkb-systems and that is supposed to be a German manufacturer.
I actually wanted Ytong, but they are only available in Moscow and driving 1300 km there is not worth it.
Now one more question: here the Russians lay reinforcing steel in the first rows up to the windows, and from after the windows the last rows up to the ring beam completely around.
For this, they mill along the stones and lay in two reinforcements each and mortar them.
In Germany, masonry connectors are used.
Does that make sense or is it nonsense?
The method with masonry connectors at the corners is certainly the simpler solution.
Below an example of that.
