Do you mean the tileable shower drain by "framed"? The rail is indeed at some distance to the back. It could be that it then possibly looks a bit "choppy" with the stainless steel rail.

The shower set including the [Regenwalddusche] is, for example, also made of stainless steel.

By framed I mean the same distance on the left and right as behind the rail.

Are there any experiences with good stainless steel shower drains that are also easy to clean? Is it worth spending more money on shower drains from the expensive manufacturers?

Both the cheap versions and the expensive models are easy to clean. I use Viega - they have a particularly flat design. I can recommend them.

With the tiled one, you also have to be very careful when removing it for cleaning not to bump the rail anywhere. This happens very quickly (since it is also significantly heavier) and then corners of the tiles chip off and it quickly no longer looks nice. Vigour offers a stainless steel rail that can be tiled on one side and used as stainless steel on the other side.
