I agree with you. But I still wanted to mention that there are comparable devices with the same technology that are also decentralized and unobtrusive. I had central system in the new building and now decentralized during the renovation.

How is the noise level with the different systems? Especially with the decentralized system, I wonder how strongly you can hear the fans, which are installed in every wall. I imagine it would be quite unpleasant in the bedroom if there is a constant rustling or humming noise.

The volume depends not only on the device but also on the installation. I can usually hear the fans. But if you have sensitive hearing, then you just can’t be sensitive, because there are plenty of other noises that could be disturbing. Dealing with noise is also a matter of attitude.

How noticeable is heat recovery?

The differences in energy consumption are clearly noticeable. I wouldn’t go without a heat exchanger.

If you follow the replacement, cleaning, and maintenance recommendations, you won’t have any problems.

I think that is a brilliantly simple solution. A forum member regularly comments on such statements with a laughing emoji. The central ventilation system is theoretically vastly superior. It just doesn’t fit every lifestyle. Opinions on this therefore differ significantly.

Scanhaus Marlow, on the other hand, is a low-budget provider with a build-your-own-house-like standard. Unfortunately, Danwood is also a skewed comparison to Scanhaus Marlow, although even in the other direction. Because while Scanhaus Marlow is only a borderline economy provider, Danwood in my opinion already dangerously plays with the romanticized view of oversized garden sheds rather than, even with all seven blind eyes closed, full-fledged dwellings. Even compared to Scanhaus, Danwood is, in my opinion, "not satisfactory" and really makes me fear the mentioned comparison field in terms of the OP’s brochure credulity worst-case scenario. That is really a bullseye of dirt cross-section; it hardly gets more beginner-like than that.

Even more important is never, really never to turn off the system. So, even during longer vacations, keep it running at the minimum setting. This dries out any condensate that might occur, and without that, there is almost certainly no mold.
