Getting a very hot full bath and two showers out of the 180L, however, is a nice proof that these storage sizes are by no means to be considered too small. Based on your shared experience, I rather wonder what one could do with, for example, 300L of external storage - in reverse, they will probably never be even remotely empty and are thus likely to be uneconomical.

It doesn’t need it, but the inclined builder "feels" better with a bigger tank. Aka bigger = longer baths and showers. It certainly pleases the manufacturer side.

We are also getting 300 l. 250 l would have been more than enough for my sense of security. But well. The offers are how they are.

and the energy supplier, since storing hot water is pure energy waste – despite good insulation. Every liter of extra water in the storage tank is wasted money. Special peak situations that occur once a year or less often do not necessarily need to be covered. If 180 liters are enough for one bath + 1-2 showers, more volume only makes sense for large families or people with a whirlpool or similar.
In that case, it makes more sense to install a hot water recirculation pump so that the hot water comes out immediately and not only after 20 seconds or so.

As Alex85 suggested, it also depends on the storage temperature. And of course on the usage behavior. If you know these key data, and also the performance of the heating system (for recharging), you can calculate the required storage volume.

Hello, is a Novelan LAD 5 DUAL CSD recommended? Or should we opt for a Viessmann VOTOCAL 200-S?
