After repeated requests, the additional cost statement arrived today. One item was absolutely unacceptable - surcharge for parquet staircase covering!

During the construction phase, we decided on a parquet staircase covering instead of tiles. There was never any mention of additional costs or anything else, neither orally nor in writing. And now this fun costs us 3000€ more.

I am just exploding inside - if we had known, we would have left the parquet.

There are one or two other points that don’t fit, but this point annoys me enormously.

What to do???

Hello Anne 1983 Please ask if the next order change causes additional costs. Steven

You can ask why it is so much. Nothing more. You bought a pig in a poke. For each change, you have the extra cost paid in advance.

Which developer?

When selecting special equipment, it always costs an additional fee.

I have now calmed down a bit and read everything through again calmly.

It still doesn't fit, but I am slowly figuring it out.

We sampled a parquet flooring for €49.90 instead of €79.90. It was a promotion.

The lady who advised us forwarded the offer to our site manager only about two weeks later. However, for €79.90 per sqm. We have already objected to the additional cost for the parquet flooring. He then said at the time that he would clarify this. For us, the issue was off the table.

As the basis for his cost calculation, he has now taken the €79.90. Which is not correct.

We are now basically paying an additional charge for the parquet flooring overall and for the stair covering made of parquet.

Who is right now?

Can you prove the promotional price? That is, that you specified the parquet at that price; if so, then at least the price should be reduced accordingly there. If you cannot prove it, it will be more difficult, and with the stair covering, the whole thing is also not that simple. If you commissioned the change without a price, then you are already in a bit of a "dumb" position. Because of course, he can then charge a comparatively high price for it if he wants.

What now needs to be clarified, of course, is what exactly was caused by the additional cost for the parquet and what was caused by the different stair covering!
