Acceptance of single-family house: energy certificate

Hello, we are about to accept our single-family house and I am currently creating a checklist with all required documents for handover/acceptance to make sure nothing is forgotten. In doing so, I got stuck on the topic of the energy certificate and have the following question: Does the builder have to pay for the creation and issuance of an energy certificate, or since this is a required KFW house in this specific case, is it created and covered by the KfW expert anyway? (there is nothing specific about this in the contract / [LV]) Thanks

Hello, yes, this is even mandatory for the building application. What I do wonder, however, is if different materials, standards, etc. were used during execution, whether an energy certificate after completion would be more meaningful. "Energieausweis als energiesparrechtlicher Nachweis: Whoever builds a new building as a builder or owner that falls under the scope of the Energy Saving Ordinance 2014 must ensure that an energy certificate is issued for it." -> unfortunately, that does not tell me who pays for it...

Yes, of course. Whether you have already done so or still have to after receiving a separate invoice, we can only speculate if we know more about the contractual situation.

Who is the builder? You yourselves or are you buying from the contractor?

When (approving the) building application, the energy certificate usually cannot be available yet.
