A railing must be retrofitted on the basement stairs, cost?

we have bought a house in which no railing was installed on the stairs down to the basement during construction 20 years ago. The owner wanted to arrange this part himself but then didn't do it and just left it as is. I find that visually unpleasant and especially not an option at all because of our small children.

The stairs themselves are white and closed, and a railing now needs to be installed on this masonry staircase. There is no handrail either.

We haven't really dealt with this point of the renovation work yet. Who do you contact for this, a carpenter? We find wooden railings visually nicer than something metallic.

Can you tell me roughly in what price ranges offers should be...?

My crystal ball says:
Approximately €350 - 900 per running meter depending on the type of wood and design.
There is no upper limit...

Do you understand that including working hours, VAT, posts, etc.?

Let's take an average of 600 euros, all in all it will be 5 meters or rather more... phew, really about 3000 euros for such a wooden railing???

I already wrote elsewhere, we are currently learning that such a house is a real financial hobby and everything always becomes more expensive than a layman thinks...

What does the stairway look like? Is there a photo of it?

I would probably install vertical struts made of metal or wood.
