€350,000, is that enough for my house?

I wanted to have a shell construction built for about 100,000 €.

Bare shell or with windows + roof?

I wanted to do the interior finishing completely by myself.
Or rather with friends who have a painting or sanitary company.
Electricians, locksmiths, etc. are also available or have agreed to help.

By help I mean that they help several days a week in the evenings or during the day.
I have planned about 3-4 months until the interior finishing is complete.

The conventional, i.e. commercial, finishing of a single-family house of 140 sqm takes about 3 months. The trades build upon each other; craftsmen are on the construction site for several hours daily.

If your friends/acquaintances agree to help in the evenings (it gets dark early) and on weekends – and do so reliably, it certainly won’t be done in less than 6 months, and I still consider that optimistic.

*Agreeing to help* is something different from working permanently on interior finishing; especially if your own self-employment must secure your livelihood – maybe also that of employees!

That is utopian! Professional providers also need 3-4 months for interior construction, and they work as a team every day for 8 hours; the trades are coordinated with each other and usually have experience working together.

Such a thing can certainly work, but you will need to plan significantly more time and accept delays. If it comes down to the wire, even the best friends will probably give up supporting you first (if there’s a fire at home, more stress at the actual job, etc.). Unless, of course, you hire them normally and pay for it; then you naturally have the same rights as a contractor. But that doesn’t seem to be the case here.

So if you’re willing to invest a year or longer in the interior construction, then do so. But consider that you will have to bear double costs during that time, because you will have to live elsewhere for that long. So calculate exactly whether it really comes out cheaper in the end (it also depends decisively on how much rent you pay).
