11 or 24 inner brick wall for "sufficient" noise protection?

Hello everyone,
is an 11 cm or 24 cm interior wall made of normal (hollow) bricks sufficient for adequate sound insulation?

1) between bathroom and children's room, so that the children do not wake up every time someone goes to the toilet at night.
2) between hobby room and children's room, when playing console games or PC games quietly with others at night?

Then every time a 24 cm wall, because it probably isolates/separates the noise between the two rooms much better than a standard 11 cm wall, right?

Let me know. Or should one perhaps use limestone walls because they have higher density? Is it unproblematic to mix two different bricks (the exterior walls are Poroton T7)?

Thank you very much

There are also soundproof bricks with higher bulk density than the normal bricks, we have them between the children's room and the bedroom and around the utility room.

Mixing bricks is not a problem. If you value noise protection that much, the doors must also be chosen with sound insulation. As parents, it is sometimes helpful to hear when someone is walking around the house. I have 12 cm brick walls and you can hardly hear anything. My girlfriend has 12 cm Ytong walls and the same. That is to say, it is sufficient under normal conditions. It is true that calcium silicate bricks insulate better and 24 cm ones as well. But where do you start, where do you stop? You would also need soundproof windows against noise from outside, etc. Build massive 12 cm walls and after 4 weeks everyone will have settled in!

An 11 cm brick wall is like having no wall at all. You definitely hear people through it when they speak normally. Music, bathroom, etc. of course. Why not 17.5 cm? That one is already significantly better.

Much more important, however, is that you additionally decouple or soundproof the water pipes from the wall. The insulation around the pipes is by far not enough.

Luckily, we only have 2 walls with 11 cm thickness, but one leads to the guest bathroom and I regret it with every single fart.

I don't need soundproof windows against noise from outside if I don't have to fear a lot of noise from outside? But I do think about whether a stronger wall between the children's room and the hobby room might be necessary. If in the evening at 9:00 PM there is fun with a console or something there and a child is sleeping next door. That's why a 24 cm wall or a special soundproof brick > 11 would be appropriate there, as suggests.

Make yourself clear that under a 24 cm KS wall there would also have to be a load-bearing wall, or an adequate effort in supports/beams. Between the bathroom and the child’s room, I would think much more of plasterboards. Sorry, even my memory doesn’t currently have your house in mind by heart – link your floor plans here if you want my detailed input.
