Hello dear everyone,
as absolute "lowlanders," our last and age-appropriate house (bungalow, prefab house with wooden facade) is now to be built in the beautiful Leinebergland, and with this, for our 3rd new build, we are for the first time confronted with a sloping site.
The slope is 10%. The house will be 10 m wide, which theoretically results in a height difference of about 1 m.
We are aware that a sloping site means additional costs! The following basic questions arise for us:
1. How can we compensate for the slope (road below) most cost-effectively (we do not want to build a basement)? (half cut away and half raised or completely raised on the street side without earth removal or ?)
2. Can the height difference be compensated solely with a strip foundation, i.e. just raise the concrete wall on one side?
PS: We do not intend to level or terrace the entire plot. This is really only about the house footprint and, of course, the terrace; the rest can gladly remain sloped as created by nature.
PSS: In the picture, you can see our plot, somewhat awkwardly shaped, but well suited for us
Thank you in advance for all helpful advice
