No, you have to have the financial background to survive if the expectations are not met. Keyword CHF financings from the past.

That's exactly what I wanted to get at I have also never had less than 5% return for many years.. and that doesn't include BTC

You just have to have the guts to take the relatively manageable risk and then live with the consequences. Return has always been the reward for risk taken...

It's just a question of whether you want to use the home as collateral to take advantage of return opportunities. Everyone has to weigh for themselves whether and to what extent they want to do this. I personally pay off normally but refrain from special repayments and prefer to invest the money in the [depot].

Ditto.

With regard to the referenced post, the more general statement is: With interest rates below 1%, special repayments don't make sense.
