Wooden floorboards with underfloor heating?

I am currently considering whether we should install underfloor heating (not heating) in the living room as part of a renovation. Can I then lay floorboards on it?

Yes, that is possible - it costs some efficiency to stick an "insulation" over the heater. I would still do it if the floor and heating type are an absolute requirement. Alternatively, during a renovation, one can also consider a wall heating system with clay plaster.

We do not want underfloor heating, only heating. The radiators remain in the room.

What kind of surface temperature are you hoping for?

In modern new builds heated with underfloor heating, even in the coldest winter the floor surface is only lukewarm. This is enough to keep the whole house warm.
