Hello everyone,
I want to set up the garden shed soon, which has been lying in my front yard for 2 weeks now. The garden shed should have a natural wood look afterwards (but not turn gray). Therefore, we want to apply a colorless glaze. But before that, the wood must be impregnated. Or you use a product where both are applied with one coat.
As far as I have heard, Osmo is a brand that is quite expensive but also offers some of the best quality. Remmers is supposedly similarly good? Osmo is offered by the garden shed seller: "OSMO Holzschutz Öl-Lasur" is used. That is impregnation and glaze in one and costs about €60 per 2.5 liters and should be applied twice. From Remmers it would probably be "Remmers HK Lasur." That should also be all-in-one. It says 3 in 1, meaning impregnation, primer, and glaze. You probably have to paint it twice as well. But it only costs half.
Does anyone here know about this?
And one more thing. According to the instructions for the garden shed, you should assemble the garden shed first and then impregnate it. In my understanding, the tongue and groove would then not be impregnated and it could start to rot there, right? Therefore, I would say it would probably be better to impregnate/glaze everything first and then assemble it.
Regards
