Do you really think that the cracks go all the way to the masonry? And even if that is the case, it does not necessarily have to result in air leakage. But as you yourself say, that is rather negligible. Air leakages in timber frame construction due to incorrect installation, however, lead to moisture problems as far as I know. But fasdas other people certainly know better...

Precisely because of the moisture issue, the question about the wall construction c). It should be able to tolerate, store, and release moisture in a normal measure. Should! Maybe there is someone in the forum here who knows a bit about timber construction or has already had the same considerations with their own timber construction and has come across insights.

Exactly for this reason... one should be careful to minimize the risks regarding the airtight layer. In other words, the installation layer. Otherwise: whether diffusion-tight or diffusion-open may still be a matter of taste, but it should be airtight in any case. By the way, we decided on a house builder who likes to use cellulose (old tabloid newspapers with fire retardants, etc.) - so far living in the house has been quite good. And noise from the sports field next door has not yet turned out to be disturbing (OK, I have only experienced a 3/4 season so far).
