Hello,

we would like to have wood-aluminum windows, but recently became aware that blue stain protection is normally used on the inside of these as well. Does anyone know if there are wood-aluminum windows without blue stain protection and if so, where? What type of wood? Does anyone have experience with regard to durability?

Thank you very much.

Good wood-aluminum windows (for which I have not yet found a supplier besides Pax AG, whose products I would have wanted to associate with our name in sales) are significantly more expensive than aluminum windows. For various reasons – not least to appear price-attractive to customers in comparison with other sheet metal-clad window profiles – wood of inferior quality is often used for wood-aluminum windows, also in my view, whose manufacturer apparently weighs the warranty risk higher than the customers’ building biology preferences. The search term "wood-aluminum" (indeed even without the addition "11ant") leads to numerous posts where I have already explained this in detail.

Do you know if PAX AG offers wood-aluminum windows without blue stain protection? With warranty? And if so, which wood?

Search for a combination with hardwood and aluminum. Then [Bläueschutz] is not an issue.

I think "yes" to "without chemicals," but I have left the window sales company and no longer have a catalog at hand. Before I looked in the telephone book on an old phone in the junk drawer, you will have long since found the company on the internet. Why do you always have to compress my litany into one sentence ;-) Yes, exactly: from the negative perspective, I was positive "use suitable material, which does not need pesticide protection." And yes, PAX AG uses hardwoods (cheaper suppliers do not, because harder wood wears out the milling tools faster).
