Windows and window handles in the new building are partly different

Hello,

we have now been living in the new house for a few weeks, and from time to time I notice things that I want to question. Like these two:

1. Throughout the house, there are actually wooden windows of a certain color and shape installed. However, there is a difference in the attic: there is only one window identical to the rest of the construction on the ground and upper floors. Another window and a door to the roof terrace look completely different.

2. Apart from the two windows just described, all window handles throughout the house are identical. However, there are also two windows here that have different handles installed.

Is this normal? Is it allowed to install such different fittings in a new building?

Regards,

Bene

We did not order anything at all. We bought "turnkey".

What does the contract say? Or did you buy the house only in its finished state (as seen)? Basically, this is not usually the case, but of course it can be planned that way. There is no legal obligation that all windows must be "the same". They just have to correspond to what was contractually agreed upon. In this case, however, I think it would have to be explicitly stated somewhere that the windows are executed differently. The handles should usually be quite easily replaceable, so that should not be a problem.

In what way do the windows differ?

The contract says nothing, only in the [Baubeschreibung] it states that wooden windows according to the color concept with certain properties (burglar-resistant, insulation, and soundproofing) will be installed.

The shape of the windows therefore differs in that the usual windows are rather classic, country house style, brown stained and with muntins. And the two windows that deviate from this are rather modern, gray painted and without muntins.

I will simply add this to the list of defects. Let's see what reaction comes back.

Attic: how is it being used? Our double casement window, for example, also looks different from all the other windows ;) Without an explanation, it's hard to say anything. I'm curious what kind of justification you will get. However, I'm surprised that something like this wasn't noticed BEFORE the acceptance.
