Hello everyone,
last week a technician came to measure our windows, which are still partially being enlarged (old building renovation). Our original idea was to set the windows about 45cm high from the top edge of the floor and then provide a parapet of about 50cm (e.g. fixed glass at the bottom, laminated safety glass outside or stainless steel grille...).
After the technician was here, our original plan had to be completely revised. Background: The parapet is not measured from the top edge of the floor, but from the top edge of the windowsill, since the windowsill is deeper than 12cm. That means, considering from the top edge of the floor, the parapet would end at about 135cm, which certainly looks very strange.
What is your opinion on this? I haven’t found anything in the Landesbauordnung Baden-Württemberg. Is this regulated somewhere? Or how do you see it? Currently, we have changed all windows to "floor-to-ceiling" and planned a glass parapet (90cm) outside.
