hello,

I have a move coming up soon. I wanted to know, if I hire a moving company now and something gets stolen or "lost", who is then liable?

so I can't help you directly, however, one of my friends had his Rolex stolen during a move. in this case it was not a problem, he still had his certificate and then resolved it with Rolex and his insurance.

When moving, you must ensure that you make a COMPLETE inventory and record it. You can then hold the carrier liable for loss of valuables.

that's how we did it once too. a list of our belongings was created. nothing was stolen from us, but something was broken and the shipping company's insurance paid because we had the inventory list it might have turned out differently otherwise

Hello Hamburger,

In any case, you must first take an inventory of your belongings. It's not just about what is lost, but something can also get damaged or so. Once you have a list of your things, the shipping company will also pay for the damage incurred.
