I have a self-employed master painter as a good friend, and he quickly moved away from the cheap paint again. Depending on the wall area, you have to paint 3-4 times. Patchy wall surfaces are not uncommon either. I think in the end it's about the quantity. If you paint a room here and there, then the cheap one from the hardware store will also do. I personally don’t like painting at all and want to be done quickly – which means painting a maximum of twice. We painted our entire house with Brillux Superlux 3000 and I have nothing negative to report about it, except maybe the price.

My favorite for normal walls is Keim Biosil. It is easy to work with, creates nice surfaces, and is safe in terms of health and environmental aspects.

I once painted a squeaky orange apartment with Obi paint. What can I say, it covered the first time. So I was always satisfied with hardware store paint. But I don't have to do it every day. On the other hand, what are 200, 300 euros difference for paint when building a house. So go ahead and treat yourself. I also took the expensive one (Alpina) for the house ;)

You should first be clear about what is important to you. I personally also prefer colors from Keim, and in my own house I only have Biosil. Innostar is also a good paint, which is sometimes covering with just one coat. But first, it is important what properties you need. Should the paint be especially abrasion-resistant, washable, or rather have the qualities like [Silikatfarben]? Look at the differences between [Silikat-] and [Disperionsfarben]. Then you have already covered the largest range. You can find plenty of good paints in both areas.

So far, I have not dealt with it in detail, but the company "Keim" was recommended to me several times. Especially because they work "somehow mineral-based." (whether this also applies to "Keim Biosil," I do not know). That means: I do not know Biosil, but I recommend taking a closer look at it.

Get your paint from the professional painter's supply store. You can't go wrong with that. If links here are directly interpreted as advertising and therefore deleted, I will not name any brands either.
