Hello everyone,

we want to use a combination of a water-bearing fireplace, gas boiler, and solar for our heating system in the new building (approx. 180m²). The rooms are to be heated with underfloor heating. I would like to install this myself and would opt for a heating system with a stud system.

However, I am a bit uncertain about which manufacturer to order from. The principle seems quite simple at least...

Where would you place the flush-mounted distributors? Ground floor in the utility room and upper floor in the hallway? How do I get the individual heating circuits from the other rooms to there? :)

Maybe someone can recommend a manufacturer and has a few tips for me.

Don't be mad at me, but if you have so little knowledge about it, you are definitely better off consulting a craftsman. At least as an advisor...

Sorry if I don't address your question directly. The two distributors should be as central as possible so that all supply lines are as short as possible.

When you look into it more closely, unfortunately what you are planning is not sensible in several respects, even if it initially sounds great to support the heating with fireplace and sun.

Your idea makes the hydraulics and control complex, expensive and you invite inefficiencies (buffer, different temperature levels, storage losses, pumps, etc.). Also keep in mind that the heating will eventually be replaced, you will pay for the complexity again then. Especially with gas, the operating costs per kWh are low. With solar thermal and/or the fireplace, you probably won't reach the green zone.

My suggestion would be:
- cheap gas boiler and that's it. Alternatively heat pump + possibly photovoltaics
- leave out solar thermal - if needed for KfW, then ventilation system, if necessary decentralized
- have the underfloor heating planned well (supply temperature max 30°), so you are prepared for the time after gas
- during operation open all thermostats and control centrally via the supply temperature
- fireplace, if it must be used, do not connect to the heating
- photovoltaics can be done, but that has little to nothing to do with the heating
