Hello,

we will start building earlier and now I am thinking about the shower cabin. Clear glass shower cabins look very elegant, but I have heard from many people that they require a lot of maintenance. Currently, in our rental apartment, we still have a shower cabin made of hard plexiglass with a droplet pattern. This shower is very low-maintenance because you don't have to squeegee it, and it is cleaned thoroughly only once a week; otherwise, it is just rinsed with water after showering. We have soft water. In our new building, the water will be medium hard (8).

There are glass shower cabins that are frosted, and there are also supposed to be some with a droplet pattern.

Which ones are easier to maintain and where can they be bought (manufacturer)?

(We have decided on the size 90x90)

Hello,

I always have a "love-hate" relationship with shower cabins because they are labor-intensive and sooner or later become unattractive.

You are building new - have you ever thought about installing a walk-in shower? The additional cost is manageable and the investment has several advantages.

On the one hand, even with a sore back or other impairments, you can easily get into the shower, on the other hand, you can separate the shower itself with a so-called privacy wall. Then just put a sauna towel in front of the shower and done; you don’t need a shower cabin. And - very important: you won’t be cold when you get out of the shower.

Kind regards

It should be noted that this variant also requires regular cleaning, as stubborn deposits can occur on tiles and grout with longer cleaning intervals. Shower walls made of clear glass are also available with special coatings that make cleaning easier, but these coatings do not last forever either...
