Thank you all for the many suggestions. We are 60 and 50 (approximately :)), so still fit enough for stairs (for now), but no longer "fit" enough for very long-running loans. The window front faces exactly south, and there are no obstructions either. The rudimentary plans are all we have received so far. We will question the neighbors during a second viewing.
