Hello,
in our basement technical room, the meter cabinet is on the right wall.
To the left of it, the LAN and SAT cables arrive.
I will hang a 45 cm deep 19" rack on the wall (60x63cm).
My idea is to hang this about 20cm away from the meter cabinet on the left.
With 20cm distance to the rack, the SAT cabling (8-way multiswitch, 4 inputs; so a total of 12 cables) should be installed.
The multiswitch should be mounted on a 40x40cm perforated metal sheet.
See picture. ([drawn rack and perforated metal sheet are not 100% to scale])
Is this okay, or does mounting the multiswitch deep have "disadvantages"? I think you (hopefully) don't have to touch it for a long time once it works.
The top edge of the rack should be at 190cm.
Other ideas?
