Where are there still bedrooms/beds with overhead structure?

We need a new bedroom. Our old one is 37 years old, but we can't find anything that we like better.

You just have a taste that hasn't been current for 20 years. Nobody wants beds like those anymore – they're simply old-fashioned. So at best, there are some niche providers somewhere.

Where on earth do people keep all their stuff?

Nowadays, people sleep in a bedroom and not in a cluttered living/storeroom. There doesn't have to be any "stuff" in there. For stuff, there are shelves and cabinets. Isn't it an alternative for you to buy a new (normal) bed and, for example, work with plug-in shelves at the headboard? Then you can "park" everything there.

Something like this can, in my view, be produced timelessly and solidly by the local carpenter for reasonable money.
