Hello everyone,

We will soon completely renovate our bathroom and have already had 3 plumbing specialists in the house.
2 of the 3 looked at the water pipes in the house from the house connection to the boiler and to all connections and said that these definitely need to be replaced because the quality is poor.
The manufacturer (-> FRIATEC) would have long since gone bankrupt because it had so many warranty cases. Online, at least we found out that the manufacturer indeed no longer exists.

The question now is, which material should be used for new pipes?
I am a bit confused, as some friends and relatives (however, no plumbing specialists) recommend plastic pipes, but in a pipe break in the guest WC the plumber installed a copper pipe.

Can you help me with this?

Best regards
oetzi

Hello,

RAUTITAN pipes (metal-plastic composite) were installed with us (new building 2011).

Best regards

Hello Cascada,

thanks for the info, but unfortunately that doesn't give me any information about which material should be used when. Just because it was installed with you doesn't mean it has to make sense everywhere.

So I would be interested in more general information.

Best regards

...then you can google the datasheets
Or you ask at least two plumbing professionals...
Best regards

Googling data sheets was hopefully meant as a joke.

Already in my first sentence above, I wrote that I have had 3 plumbing experts here. And each of them says something different!
That is why I have decided to seek expert opinions or knowledge here in the forum where no one is going to sell me golden water pipes.

Matter of belief. We make copper press fittings because we have an irrational aversion to plastic. Properly done, all pipes hold.
