Hello,
first of all, I hope I have posted in the right forum or the right category.
We have moved into a new apartment and had parquet flooring partially installed. Unfortunately, we are not entirely satisfied with our parquet installer and we suspect that he is more of a craftsman who does all kinds of things. Therefore, I am turning to you. We have three transitions (see photos) that need to be fitted with floor profiles. We are supposed to buy the strips, but unfortunately I have no idea about this.
We installed a cork underlayment that is 2mm high and parquet that is 14mm high. So the newly installed floor is 16mm higher than the old one.
Our parquet installer does not recommend transition strips because the doors would have to be cut down significantly. I agree with that point. He therefore wants edge trims or stair profiles/angle profiles. However, online I only find profiles that are 10mm high, which is clearly too short, or 20mm high, which is too tall.
I think normally two-part profiles should have been installed at the beginning. But at least for two of the transitions, the newly installed parquet can no longer be lifted.
I hope that one of you can help me and I thank you in advance.
Regards

There are profiles with height compensation, that means with 1 or 2 cm difference in height per side.

You just have to look for them in specialized stores. It is not a problem and visually it is hardly noticeable.

You can search for it under compensation profile.

Hi Buchsbaum066,

first of all, thank you for your response. We want to avoid a transition profile right now. I also tried to explain that above :)
"Our parquet layer does not recommend transition rails, as the doors would have to be shortened significantly. I agree with that point as well."

Best regards

Maybe you could send pictures with an overview of the respective situation.

Hello Arauki11,

I have added the pictures to my initial post. Which ones exactly are missing for you?

Just go to any hardware store and get, for example, a 15mm aluminum angle profile. That should be available everywhere. Isosceles or whatever you like. Alternatively, in the tile department, the corresponding angle profiles you use for tiles. Aluminum or stainless steel.
